Why do you need a meditation cushion?

Meditation is a state of non-distraction. If you are not distracted and know you have a thought while thinking it, you are probably an experienced meditator or a practitioner with high abilities. In this case, the place, time, sight, smell, or taste of your environment is of no importance. You can just be without any reference point. Without anything to hold on to, with no hope and no fear.
For many of us, achieving a state of non-distraction is not in our habit. It requires practice, not just any practice, but a specific form of practice known as 'meditation.'
While meditation itself is not inherently linked to specific accessories like pillows, bowls, or scents, these are crucial for practice. Sitting on a comfortable pillow is essential, as it provides good support to the back and buttocks. Placing your feet on a soft surface is also good so they do not hurt quickly.
Pay attention to the atmosphere, try to find a private space, as sighlent as possible, with enough light, and maybe light some incense. Look at an inspiring picture. You can also put on pleasant and relaxing music or a mantra if it inspires you. These add-ons are probably essential for your meditation practice session.
